I was not informed that my test results had arrived, so I called to get them but the contact number for the surgery either rang out or went straight to voicemail for 3 days. I was then told by the receptionist, over the phone, that she could confirm that the overall test was fine, but that she didn't understand the print-out and I need to see a doctor for the result of the test that I actually went for! She could not comprehend that I work full-time and am unable to leave work in the middle of the day for an appointment. I was then informed that they had a cancellation late that afternoon, and my employers were kind enough to let me leave work to attend. However, when I arrived I was told that the receptionist who booked my appointment had mixed up the times and I had already missed it! They had no other last minute appointments and I was fobbed off with a piece of paper to register online and book my own appointment! Now I have to take more time off work for a 2 minute chat with a doctor! Very unprofessional and poor time-management from staff. As I have now taken up a full appointment slot when I just needed someone to read a result off a piece of paper.
